Hello: I need help connection Artisan to capture BT by adding an Amprobe TMD-56 data logger that reads an added thermocouple. Artisan communicates properly through Bluetooth on my MacBook Pro, but I can't get it to find the com port for the data logger. Here are screen shots showing my settings. FYI, I turn off the iPhone I use to send the roast profile to the roaster via Bluetooth before starting the roast, which eliminates a potential conflict. Thanks for any suggestions! Computer: MacBook Air M2, OSX Sequoia 15.5, Artisan 2.10.2 (7953752) Here are screen shots of my settings.

If you're running Windows on your Mac, then COM1 would be a sensible serial port to be selecting. You'd identify what the COM port should be by opening Device Manager application and finding the COM port section and identifying what COM port appears when you first attach the meter. But since you're not running Windows, then you need to identify the serial port in linux. the following should give you a good enough starting point (but I am no guru on linux) |

Your symbolic formula in the Found this note on searching HB: The Amprobe uses either an FTDI or a CP210x driver. I forgot. Serial ports for external devices like this are created by the driver on connecting them (powered ON) to your mac as You should see your devices port while connected on doing a in a Terminal.app window. In any case I would first start to connect the Amprobe as main device without any IKAWA setup. Just do a Factory Reset, configure the Amprobe as main device and get this reporting BT/ET data. Note down the serial port the worked and then try to add it as an extra device to your IKAWA setup. |

Thank you, Marko. I’ll report back once I’ve tried this.

Your symbolic formula in the Symb ET/BT is wrong. You need to use Y10
here instead of the X10 you have.

First and foremost, on the meter itself, be sure to first reset it to channel 0. This is done by, with the meter off, pressing and holding the power (top left) and "T1-T2" (bottom right) buttons until the display reads""0.0" and the meter powers on.
The Amprobe uses either an FTDI or a CP210x driver. I forgot. Serial ports
for external devices like this are created by the driver on connecting them
(powered ON) to your mac as /dev/cu.usbserial-.... All known ports are
visible in that Ports popup under Ports Configuration >> Extras for the
Amprobe. To find out which is the correct one, disconnect the device, check
the popup, connect the device and re-check the popup. The additional entry
available while the device is connected is the correct port of your
Amprobe. If you don't see any additional entry in the popup while
connected, the port is not created as the driver did not recognize your
device. Both driver, the CP210x and FTDI drivers are preinstalled on modern
macOS and never needs installation (you can break things if you install an
FTDI driver on a modern macOS).
You should see your devices port while connected on doing a
# ls -l /dev/cu*
in a Terminal.app window.

Your solution works. The port offered for the Amprobe TMD-56 in Exra Devices that I chose is: /dev/cu.usbserial-A100M04C |
