New PID settings Question

I have loaded the 3.4 version onto my windows computer but don't see the settings in the control window? What am I missing?

Your Artisan is configured to control an external PID controller via MODBUS. In case you refer to the new features of the Artisan internal PID, those are not available for external PIDs. You need set the PID device ID to 0 to deactivate the MODBUS PID control.

I am still having issues trying to use Artisan's new PID settings. We have used the Fuji PID in the past. I have set the
program to use background with PID on in control but it still does not send a message to turn the gas on and follow background. Maybe events, burner is confusing things as it is addressing the Fuji still for the slider at 1 instead of 0?
I would love a little help with this. There are so many settings in this program for different devices that it can get a bit confusing. I have attached some of my settings. In device assignment I tried Program instead of Modbus but it wouldn't save the setting.

Based on an analysis of your hardware configuration, two viable options are available:

The power controller is driven by Device 1.397, but this driver is not registered in the Modbus registers.
The power controller is driven by the Fuji PXF.
Both options fully support the normal operation of Artisan's PID functionality.

If you have a FUJI PID and used it, why not keep using it. An external hardware PID (especially those excellent Fuji PIDs) will always outperform any software PID. The Fuji PID overs also way more algorithms, parameters and controls than Artisan will ever support, thus you need to configure them on the device. There is an extensive manual for each FUJI PID explaining all the details.

The Fuji PXF temperature controller is a product from 10 years ago that has already been discontinued. Apart from standard PID control, features like fuzzy control and 2-degree-of-freedom PID control are considered immature products. I consulted engineers from Fuji Electric (China) Co., Ltd., and this is what they told me.

We are using the Fuji PXF 4. We are within 2 degrees of the SV in the background and getting consistent results and great reviews on Coffee Review.com. I saw Jason's video on the new PID algorithms and thought maybe it would improve things more. I'm trying to tighten the background tracking after first crack as the profiles can drift 30 sec. I will stick with Makomo's suggestion and stay with the Fuji for now and maybe work on a new pid for after first crack in alarms. It could also be noise from my thermocouple contributing to shifting profiles as there is more air between the beans after first crack, especially small batches. The large 45# baches are more consistent. Thanks for your comments!

I'm on a Probat L25 . I use 3 burners for large batches and 2 burners for smaller batches up to 18 lb.
