Windows 11, Artisan, TMD-56. Not talking. New user.

Just installed Artisan on a Windows 11 laptop. I have TMD-56 meter, k type probe, Freshroast SR800 roaster. I get a message at the top of the Artisan roast screen that says '0 bytes received' and the instantaneous BT is 0.

Devices listing on the laptop shows up under ports when the probe is connected by the USB. When connected it says, Com 3, USB serial port FTDI.
19,200 baud, data: 8 bytes, parity : none, stop bits: 1, flow control: None.
FTDI driver 10/28/24. 2.12.36.20 version

On Artisan I have device: meter Amprobe tmd-56 selected
Ports settings are com 3; 19200 baud, 8 bytes, parity none, stop bits 1, timeout 0.7

When I press "run" in Artisan it gives a "0 bytes received' message and BT shows 0.

I downloaded and installed the most recent amprobe software. If I run the amprobe software the software shows the same temperature that is displayed on the meter. It will also show a graph of the BT probe. So I think the meter is talking to the computer.

Ive tried running Artisan with and without the amprobe software running. I get the same 0 bytes received message.

The meter is set to channel '0' and the BT temp probe is in the t2 position on the meter.

I'll give it a try. I did have them set at 9600 yesterday. That didn't work - but I was running the amprobe software and artisan at the same time. The tmd-56 user manual says to use 19200 baud. But I will try it.

Yes, they are the same. I've tried both at 9600 (just now) and both at 19200. Both are set to 8 bytes, no parity, 1 stop bit. Get the same message "0 bytes received"

Artisan has the 0.7 second timeout, I don't see that setting in windows 11. Windows 11 has "flow control" which I don't see in artisan.

I see on your list parity is set to even. Mine is set to none. I'll change that and see what happens.

That worked. Set parity to Even. I don't have a clue what that means.
