NERACOOS requires a mechanism to track costs for operating PAMHUB.
Describe the solution you'd like
Dashboard and/or monthly report breaking the cloud costs down into categories such as:
- Storage of various types (hot/cold, file system vs database etc.)
- Persistent compute costs e.g. head nodes
- Manual interaction with the system (e.g. operations of the JupyterHub analysis environment or the windows workstation)
- Egress costs
- Compute costs for intermittent HPC intensive tasks etc.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Anything from a static monthly report sent via email to a dedicated monitoring dashboard.
Additional context
The main goals are to control costs from unexpected system states and to be able to provide cost estimates for additional proposals for O&M support.
