101 Golang Session for Beginners

Abstract

Golang, or simply go, is one of the fastest growing programming languages on the planet now. Its even easier and much faster than scripting languages like python/pearl. A growing number of students in colleges are now attracted to golang and therefore, this workshop shall serve as an important introductory course for them.

About

Introducing beginners on the following, along with a hands-on demonstration:

  • Why golang?
  • How is it better than other languages?
  • Intro to I/O funcs and error handling.
  • Concept of structs over frameworks.
  • Why is it so fast?
  • Dockerizing golang micro-services, with a demo.

Pre-requisites

  • Basic experience in programming.

  • Just a laptop with Linux installed on it. Windows could work too.

Expected duration

Approx 1 - 1.5 hours.
