Since Thunder is a lightweight Identity Server written in Go and uses a more flexible, schema-driven approach for profile modeling compared to the legacy Identity Server, it creates a strong opportunity to integrate Customer Data Service (CDS) capabilities such as profile building, dynamic user traits, guest user tracking, and profile unification in a much more natural and extensible way.
This would allow applications to track users even before signup, merge anonymous and identified identities safely, and offload customer data storage to an IAM-managed CDS layer for centralized governance, scalability, and reduced data security risk, while still keeping Thunder focused on core identity functions and exposing clean APIs or extension points for profile and event handling.
