Is it possible to process data, generate audio, and return it for playback in Asterisk?

I would like to know if it is possible to process data, generate audio from it, and then return the generated audio for playback in an Asterisk system. Specifically, I am interested in knowing how to integrate this process, whether through a custom script or any built-in functionality within Asterisk.
