BUG: Poorly optimized Javascript surfacing in Firefox stricter long-run timeout compared to Google Chrome

The Web app stalls in Firefox. See screenshot. It's probably very poorly optimized Javascript, which runs into the much stricter long-run timeout of Firefox compared to Google Chrome. The issue is easily replicated and should be fixable.
