Summary

This package uses atom-space-pen-views, an UI library that hasn't been updated in 7 years. It should be replaced by a modern library such as etch or using a modern framework such as SolidJS or Svelte.

Motivation

Using a more widely know technology makes the codebase more accessible to others, e.g. potential contributors. I don't have any numbers to back this up, but I'm going to assume that most of the mentioned alternatives result in better performance and possibly in a smaller footprint.
