Recent commits view shows same avatar for multiple non-GitHub accounts

Description

If there are multiple different users (author email addresses) in the recent commit list and avatars from GitHub are not available, then every single commit looks to be from the same author:

Steps to Reproduce

1. Have a git repo with multiple commit authors, but not a GitHub repo.
2. View the recent commits

Expected behavior:

Different avatars shown for each author, for example this is how GitKraken shows the same commits:

Actual behavior:

The same avatar is shown for every author.

Reproduces how often:

100% of the time.

Ah yes, good catch @Arcanemagus 👍. We can use an identicon generator to create different avatars. Looks like there are a few on npm to choose from

Another good alternative would be to use initials like GitKraken does:

If you are getting initials, that's coming from whatever service you are connected to that GitKraken happens to support icons from. If you have a repository where avatars are not available at all, GitKraken will generate "Space Invaders" style avatars... exactly as I showed in the Expected Results section already 😉.

It's actually a setting in GitKraken, and the information is just taken from the name in the commit.

I think it's more meaningful than just random "Space Invaders" icons. And since the plugin does not support GitHub Enterprise I'd believe that it's a common issue.

And this is obviously also off-topic, just thought I'd clarify what I meant.

I confirm the issue is still in v1.48.0. However one particular user is shown with different avatar for some reason:
