Closing an inactive tab steals focus from the currently focused text editor

Steps to reproduce:

• Open two text editors
• Click the x on the inactive editor's tab to close it
• The editor in the foreground loses focus

I'm pretty sure this is a "bug/feature" with most OSes, any clicks on a window make that window the focus. Are there other programs that can accomplish a similar result?

Yes, many many. Chrome, Safari, etc.

I still can reproduce this bug, not sure why it is closed.
