<p>Plymouth — это историческая американская автомобильная марка, основанная в 1928 году Уолтером Крайслером. Она была задумана как более доступный бренд, способный конкурировать с такими гигантами, как General Motors и Ford. Первой моделью марки стал экономичный "Plymouth Four", который заменил "Chrysler 52".</p>

<p>В 1929 году был открыт завод в Детройте, и уже в 1930 году модель "Plymouth U" предлагалась с радиоприемником за дополнительную плату. В 1931 году была представлена новая серия "РА", укрепившая репутацию марки как производителя массовых автомобилей. В 1932 году вышла серия "РВ", а в 1933 — модель "Р", оснащенная 6-цилиндровым двигателем.</p>

<p>К 1934 году Plymouth выпустил миллионный автомобиль, а в 1942 году представил модель "14С" с широким салоном и автоматическим освещением. В годы Второй мировой войны производство автомобилей было приостановлено и возобновилось только в 1945 году.</p>

<p>В 1950-х годах начался спад в продажах, который удалось преодолеть благодаря обновлению стиля и внедрению 8-цилиндровых двигателей. В 1957 году вышла популярная серия "Flight Sweep", которая помогла компании занять третье место по продажам в США.</p>

<p>Однако в 1960-х годах, несмотря на успешные модели, такие как Valiant и Barracuda, продажи снова упали. Пик популярности пришелся на конец 1960-х и начало 1970-х, когда продажи достигли 700 тыс. автомобилей в год. В 1970-х годах марка продолжала развиваться, выпуская новые модели, такие как Sport Fury и Horison.</p>

    <h3>О  Plymouth</h3>

<p>В 1980-х и 1990-х годах Plymouth продолжал выпускать модели, но к концу 1990-х годов марка стала убыточной. В 1999 году было решено закрыть Plymouth, и в 2001 году последние модели были переименованы в Chrysler. Это ознаменовало конец эры для одного из символов американской автомобилестроительной индустрии.</p>
