Automatic LUT Calibration error

Hello, I wanted to start again with the ambilight project and saw some awesome new features in the new version, one of which is the automatic LUT Calibration and also automatic SDR to HDR tone mapping.
When I tried the automatic LUT Calibration, I got this error:
The calibration failed. The error is too high.
What does this mean?
Also when I tried the automatic SDR to HDR tone mapping, it didn't seem to work well. What is the best way to get the thresholds?

Before any other experiment make sure that SDR works fine. Firmware update seems OK: you have only YUV modes without JPG that were added later in newer broken Chinese firmware. So next to check it: power supply. Or the grabber/splitter is in fact broken if you are sure that HDMI cables are good.

if you have a splitter from Aliexpress or another Chinese noname model, you can skip further tests. Now that there is some image (still no perfect), it is due to the extended EDID in the new firmware, but apparently the splitter does not even fully cope with that.

So I tried out a bit more. I have an Ezcoo Matrix, I think it's basically the recommend splitter just as a 4x2 matrix. But I think I actually never got any picture out of it at Output 2 with the settings of the downscaler active and copy EDID at 4k24). Do you know why this now happened the flickering picture? Also do you know of a matrix that support everything (also 4k24fps/4k23.96 or whatever it is)?
With this firmware (https://github.com/steve-m/ms2130_patcher/blob/master/ms2130_patched_v1.bin) I was able to run the calibration (I think it's a "patched" 4k2 firmware, whatever that means). SDR looked good, HDR was a bit too colorful I think. The best results I had were actually still with the firmware I had on the grabber at first with a pre calibrated LUT table I think. Shouldn't SDR look normal with the old firmware (F3) I tried at first?

Honestly, it looks freaking good. The automatic tone mapping feature is just absolutely fantastic. I think my main problem now are dark areas that only need very little light. My LEDs appear reddish then. But I think that is more a problem with my LEDs (WS2812B) because if I try the backlight option and turn it to 1/2%, the LEDs are also only red instead of super dim white. Also, the colours are just a tiny bit too extreme, I can only take out saturation for everything if I just use the automatic tone mapping, right? I have the RGBW strip here which I will mount in a few months, this should solve the reddish problem in dark scenes.
Then I only need a matrix that can also support 4k at every Hz.

Maybe in the future: such low brightness accuracy will require both P010 format and 4 * 16-bit or at least 4 * 10-bit RGBW LEDs (I haven't heard about such devices so far)
