Amplify Flutter build worked yesterday, fails today with "Not a valid object name origin/master"

Description

Flutter front end UI with GraphQL API backend. Multiple builds worked on 02/11/2025 but all builds fail today 02/12/2025.
Backend seems to build okay but errors reported in the deploy of the front-end during preBuild phase.

We have been getting exact same error since yesterday. The Amplify engine is pulling the wrong Branch - origin/master. We have mulitple deployments set up to different branches. No changes, all deployments started failing yesterday with same error, regardless of branch being pulled.

Had the same problem just now. Seems to be related to the last stable build of Flutter...

My Amplify build script used to have:
git clone https://github.com/flutter/flutter.git -b stable --depth 1

So I replaced it with:
git clone --depth 1 --branch 3.24.5 https://github.com/flutter/flutter.git

Pointing to the same Flutter vesion that I use in my project. Seems to have fixed the problem, at least for now. I know it is not the best solution, but might help...

Switching to a specific Flutter version (3.27.0 in my case) instead of stable solved the issue. Here’s the script that worked for me:

cd $CI_PRIMARY_REPOSITORY_PATH

git clone --depth 1 --branch 3.27.0 https://github.com/flutter/flutter.git $HOME/flutter
export PATH="$PATH:$HOME/flutter/bin"

flutter precache --ios

flutter pub get

HOMEBREW_NO_AUTO_UPDATE=1
brew install cocoapods

cd ios && pod install

exit 0

git clone --depth 1 --branch 3.24.5 https://github.com/flutter/flutter.git

I confirm this fix is working for us as well.

I think the issue should be opened on Flutter repo, I spent some hours today on this, with XCode Cloud integration failing again and again, before I figured this out.. Thanks for opening it anyway! It confirmed it wasn't only me 😅
