Bump to `hugo-extended` `v0.123.3` breaks script rendering

How can the docs be improved?

#5729 attempted to bump the hugo-extended package for our docs with dependabot; however, this change caused breaking in script rendering in Hugo and Netlify after the change was deployed. We are going to revert this change in #5735 but we need to figure out why this change broke our script rendering so that we can push forward with upgrading our packages without seeing any break in our website generation.
