We're using GitHub Discussions as a place to connect with other members of our community who are using or contributing to AWS MCP Servers. This monorepo contains a suite of specialized Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers designed to bring AWS best practices directly to your development workflow.

What are MCP Servers?

MCP servers extend AI assistant capabilities by providing structured access to external tools and resources. Our collection includes specialized servers for:

• Bedrock Knowledge Bases Retrieval: Query Amazon Bedrock Knowledge Bases with natural language
• CDK: Get AWS CDK best practices, infrastructure patterns, and security compliance guidance
• Cost Analysis: Analyze AWS service costs, query pricing data, and generate cost reports
• Nova Canvas: Generate images using Amazon Nova Canvas with text prompts or color guidance
• Core MCP: Central server that manages and coordinates other MCP servers
• Yours ⁉️

I just wanted to stop by and say THANK YOU!! I've been working on a similar project for interacting with AWS via MCP Servers & you all beat me to the punch! :) I was trying to solve the challenge of keeping an AWS MCP Server up to date on the latest SDK updates & services that are introduced by AWS on a daily basis. I'm looking forward to trying this solution out & contributing where I can! Thanks again!

Hi there! I absolutely love this! But I had a question:

This line shows that the agent MUST access the resources for knowledge base: https://github.com/awslabs/mcp/blob/main/src/bedrock-kb-retrieval-mcp-server/awslabs/bedrock_kb_retrieval_mcp_server/server.py#L60

I'm using it in cursor, but I assume this won't work because cursor doesn't support resources currently? Is my understanding correct?

Hey, sorry I missed this! I wasn't aware Cursor didn't support resources... Yes, the resource returns the filtered KBs in your account. We may need to refactor it as a tool! I'll look into this
