Feature request: Making product options easier to edit

When editing a product's options and specifying SKU and stock, it would be great if I could put these into one tabbed view to speed up the process of adding attribute options, price, weight, SKU and stock for a product.

So instead of these three screens:

There would be just one allowing input of each of these data items.

In principle, is there a reason why this could not work?

If not, where would I start to look into making this change?

My customer usefully added this example of where these items could appear:
