This is a copy of the issue located at https://www.drupal.org/project/webform/issues/1932560, since I need this feature on a Backdrop site. I'm going to port the latest patch, and submit a PR here.

I'm hesitant to merge it until it's stable and accepted in the d.o thread. The last two comments suggest it still needs tests, a bug fix, code standards, and documentation.

That's more than reasonable. I think we may have found a temporary work-around for my site for now anyway. We can see how that issue advances in D7 between now and when I need it next :)

Any news on this feature? I could certainly use it too. Especially the autodraft feature.

All work is being done in the Drupal thread first https://www.drupal.org/project/webform/issues/1932560. Last comment was that the new functionality needs tests. Who wants to take that on? @combert, willing and able?

I would not mind. I am not a coder, and I am unsure of what would be required of me to test the module?

@combert manual testing is important, but I think they're talking about automated tests which requires some level of coding.
