Forum not wrapping long URLS

Hello Everyone,

The FORUM is not wrapping long URLs, leading to this:

Long-term Mitigation:

• Resolve issue, potentially with URL format management having a similar situation as:
  • The .ck-reset class should set word-wrap to break-word to keep long words from overflowing ckeditor/ckeditor5#3379
  • "The .ck-reset class should set word-wrap to break-word to keep long words from overflowing"

Immediate mitigation:

• Promote use of URL shorteners such as:
  • https://www.shorturl.at/

An ideal solution to this problem would be if everyone in the forum would create accessible links (instead of posting full URLs) where the text within the anchor tags would explain where the link is going, and contains only words (with spaces!) so it would be able to break at the end of lines.

But I expect the chances of everyone doing that is about zero :)

A less ideal and more realistic solution is to fix this with CSS in the forum theme, something like word-break: break-all;

I'd prefer not to add any JavaScript when the problem can be solved with CSS alone.

Only tangentially related? There was a recent update to the external links module for Drupal 10 that (also) caused this problem. We've been going through all our sites manually replacing URLs with accessible links before updating to the latest release - but there are CSS-only solutions out there also.
