Proposal

Should this library take advantage of the new DOM features in PHP8.4 and if so
Should it drop support for any version below PHP8.4 🤔

I’d do it this way:

• Version 1.x will represent the current development branch, aligning with PHP 8.4 compatibility.

• Version 0.x designates the legacy branch. This branch supports versions of PHP prior to 8.4 and will receive security updates and minor issue resolutions.

Development will actively proceed within the 1.x branch.
The 0.x branch will maintain exclusively for critical updates impacting legacy environments.
