Speed slider makes the unit go to auto mode

I keep having issues with the slider to select the fan speed. For a while I couldn't figure out why it would jump from a static speed to auto, until I started slowely moving the slider from 0 to 100. It seems it goes from auto to 1 to auto to 2 to auto to 3 to auto to 4 then back to auto with no way to tell. Ideally that is fixed where it just goes from 1-4 or even better (I have a feeling the homekit API doesn't allow this) a speed selector "switch" and not a slider.

I just got around to installing/configuring this plugin, and I am having the exact same issue. Most times it gets stuck on 'Auto' unless I toggle the 'Manual/Auto' selector back and forth. I am available to help debugging if anyone is still maintain this!
