Initialise programs on startup and add to workspaces

99% of the time after restarting or shutting down I am opening the same programs and I have post-it notes on my monitor so I remember which workspaces to add certain programs to.

Does anyone know of a good program that facilitates this? Besides diving into bash and running a startup script.

This follows pretty much listening to @dhh in the video walkthrough his preferred setup and what workspace numbers programs are getting pinned to.

For now I'll give devilspie a go and see if it does an OK job.

I'm interested in a solution too. If I could map a hotkey or a terminal command that opens

• Browser in workspace 1
• Terminal in workspace 2
• IDE in workspace 3
• Slack in workspace 4

It would be great.
Otherwise, a way to default each app to a specific workspace would to the trick as i can do Alt+1 2 3 4 and let them open up in the correct space. Currently I have to do Alt+1, Super+2, Alt+2, Super+3, Alt+3, Super+4, Alt+4, which is okayish but feels like it coul be scripted.
