Potential options:

• Leave fonts to the user with instructions & suggestions
• Implement a solution into the Omarchy bin similar to Omakub?
• Use a package such as font-manager (pick your poison, I went with the first Wayland + GTK option)
• Something really cool, something I don't even know about - Frank

I just went through some font stuff myself and here's what I did (and discovered):

1. Downloaded "Hurmit Nerd Font" -- I like this one a lot
2. Copied the files (not the *Mono ones) to ~/.local/share/fonts/
3. Ran fc-cache -fv
4. Updated my Ghostty config with font-family = Hurmit Nerd Font
5. It didn't work... Grok told me to remove binding="strong" from the "monospace" entry in ~/.config/fontconfig/fonts.conf
6. Restarted Ghostty and it worked!

This worked better than I thought and didn't require any extra tools - only a rough understanding of how the fonts work.

I'm curious what kind of problems related to fonts you want to solve.

Personally, I like having really simple instructions that not only teach me how things work but how to modify things to my preferences.

Thanks!! I too love simplicity.

I don't particularly have a dog in the race, I like my font. The request has come up often however.

I was thinking similar to Omakub's TUI, a nice font section with some defaults, etc...

You brought up an excellent point about really good documentation! Yes to this 100% for the tinkerers.

Oh okay, I haven't used Omakub so I didn't realize Omakub had a nice TUI for this. I'll have to look more into that.
