Hyprland 99% cpu usage when copy&paste + copy&paste not working

This is my first issue report for any linux distro, so excuse me if my issue is too vaguely worded.

I have been using omarchy for a good week for mainly coding using pycharm.

It's been going great so far, getting used to the SUPER C & V for copy & pasting: all good.

However, suddenly today I have been experiencing issues using copy&paste from pycharm into a browser where nothing happens.

Then I hear the fans of my laptop going wild and btop shows a 99% cpu usage by hyprland.

I'm guessing that something is going wrong while handling the paste command. When looking into the clipboard manager using SUPER CTRL V, I see that the text I tried to copy from pycharm is not even present (so I guess it's not even copied in the first place).

While writing this issue, hyprland is still stuck at 99% cpu usage.

Edit: In hopes of solving this problem I updated omarchy but to no avail.

This is possibly some bad interaction between Hyprland and IntelliJ-Platform applications. I've encountered the same behaviour multiple times under the same circumstances, while copy/pasting in IntellIJ IDEA.

This is what I experienced.

You might be able to band-aid the issue by killing wl-clip-persist, which I believe is involved in Omarchy's global clipboard feature. I had to do this every system boot myself, until I didn't. I think what stopped the necessity was turning on JetBrains's experimental Wayland support. I can't confirm any longer, as I've since moved to nvim and the Omarchy Way ™️.
