Omarchy is a wonderful thing, but the base Steam install doesn’t provide everything the users need to launch games…especially for AMD and ARC cards.

This bash Script Named W.O.P.R after that computer war-games .........will do just that and lot more

I,m try to lower the barrier of entry for non Linux People with this. Bazzite is great but to locked down, catchy Os ... great but its steep learn curve and anyone coming from windows or Mac would be lost with it if they want to game .

Omarchy was the end of long road for me trying to escape MAC ...and its now my daily driver and I have been cutting TV commercials on it quite Happily in Davinci resolve .

It also help me re-discover coding ...which is nice

Couple of points before we dive

All the bash I used to write was for post production ....so I never used Git before as it was all in house so I have posted it on git with as much info as possible ...I am a git virgin Ha!

W.O.P.R. is an opinionated Steam “gaming mode” launcher for OMARCHY.

It installs all the bits you need for a SteamOS-style experience (Steam, Gamescope, MangoHud, GameMode, 32-bit libs, GPU drivers), wires everything into Hyprland keybinds, and gives you a friendly TUI to pick resolution and performance overlay before it launches Steam.

Once installed:

• SUPER+SHIFT+S → enter Gaming Mode
• SUPER+SHIFT+R → exit Gaming Mode and restore your desktop

This looks like it has some great potential, is there any way to test this out? I've been having a very hit or miss experience with Steam on Omarchy and this could be a huge time saver.

I have an Alienware 34" Ultrawide 3440x1440p monitor and was not offered that resolution option when pressing SUPER SHIFT S and setting it up. Other than that I have had no issues and love this script. Thank you very much! I will gladly provide more information if you need in order to add this.

Side note: I am wondering if it instead detected my secondary vertical monitor because it only listed 2560x1440@170 when my main monitor is 3440x1440@175??

yes I saw this on git I,m go to look into this and a few other thing people have mention to move the script forwards so there will be a V2 at some point
