Hi! I’d like to suggest an improvement to how media keys (Bluetooth headset controls, e.g., AirPods) interact with Omarchy’s tab system.
Current Behavior:
When I pause media in one tab and then press play on my Bluetooth earphones to resume, Omarchy unpauses media from the first tab that has media, not necessarily the tab I’m currently using.
For example:
Tab 1: YouTube video (paused)
Tab 2: Spotify (paused)
I’m currently in Tab 2.
I press Play on my earphones → Tab 1’s YouTube video resumes instead of Tab 2’s Spotify playback.
This becomes especially noticeable when Spotify or other apps are stored in Stash — the media key may start something completely unrelated in another tab.
Expected / Ideal Behavior
Media keys should only control playback in the active context, meaning:
If I’m currently on Tab 2, then play/pause should only affect media in Tab 2.
If I’m on Tab 1, then only Tab 1’s media should respond.
If I’m viewing an app via Stash, then only that Stash item’s media should respond.
Media in other tabs should not auto-resume unless I explicitly switch to that tab.
This would prevent accidental playback of unrelated media and make multi-tasking with media apps much smoother.
