Description
As a FBA
I need ASA to summarize predominant fuels types only
So That Advisory bulletins focus on fuel types most relevant to the zone.
Acceptance Criteria
- Provide EK with zonal statistics that summarize pixel count per fuel type for each Fire Zone (2024 Fuel Grid vs 2025 Fuel Grid).
- Apply global threshold of < 100 pixels (2 x 2 km) for excluding fuel types from advisory bulletin and fuel table. However, apply an exception to maintain all slash fuels (S-1, S-2, S-3) and C-5 fuels regardless of their pixel count.
- Enhance the logic for Advisory bulletins so that slash fuel types (S-1, S-2, S-3) are never used to determine min/max hours for the advisory from June 1 to September 30. During this time period, slash should not be used as one of the top-three fuel types regardless of its spatial coverage with respect to high HFI pixels. Start/End hours for slash fuels will still be included in the fuel table.
- If critical hours from non-slash fuel types exceed 12 hours, add the following statement to the advisory bulletin: "Slash fuel types will exhibit high fire intensity throughout the burning period."
Additional Context
- Example: C-2 fuels in Kamloops
