Accepting fixes for python3 and expanding tests to 3.5 and 3.6

just wanted to check in on whether the maintainers of this library are present and willing to accept pull requests for the following

• Expand testing to python 3.5
• Expand testing to python 3.6
• Things that shake out from the expanded testing.
