persist app preferences

Is it planned to add functionality for persisting app preferences?
App preferences should be simple key-value pairs of data that should be persisted, e.g. username, password or url.
On the android platform this would be nowadays implemented using a simple DataStore (formerly SharedPreferences was the recommended method).

This has been discussed, but nobody is currently working on it. See #90.

Thanks for pointing to #90!
I noticed that discussion earlier, but that's not what I have in mind.
Anyway, rereading #90 gave me the idea to simply use file storage.
