对 Uber 来说，传统节日圣诞节又多了一层庆祝的意义：Uber 在圣诞夜迎来了第 10 亿单打车交易。

这单交易被 <a href="http://newsroom.uber.com/one-in-a-billion/">Uber 官方博客</a>很详细地记录了下来：Uber 用户 Marvin 在伦敦的哈克尼区打了一趟 UberX，车主 Ara 开的是一辆蓝色本田 Insight 混合动力车。

为了纪念这个里程碑，Uber 决定给 Marvin 和 Ara 提供福利：Marvin 将获得的价值 1 万英镑的一年免费打车服务，而 Ara 则获得了一次免费的旅行，他可以选择任何一个已经开通 Uber 服务的城市。

完成第一个 10 亿单打车交易，Uber <a href="http://techcrunch.com/2015/12/30/uber-hits-one-billionth-ride-gifts-free-year-of-rides/?ncid=rss&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+Techcrunch+%28TechCrunch%29">花了 5 年半</a>，期间 Uber 已经成为了有史以来估值最高的公司了。这家公司从 2010 年 6 月正式推出打车服务以来，到今天已经完成了 6 轮融资，估值也达到了惊人的 <a href="http://www.qdaily.com/articles/18535.html">625 亿美元</a>。

很多人也许会从数量上对这个 10 亿的数字进行判断，例如将其跟 Uber 的竞争对手相比，而这是不合理的一种看法。换句话说，如果认为滴滴出行 2014 年日均订单 500 万单远超 Uber 今年 9 月份才达到的<a href="http://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/news/2015/12/30/uber-1-billion-rides/78097488/">日均 200 万单</a>，就认为滴滴出行的生意做得比 Uber 好，这个看法无疑是不正确的。

可以参考的一个角度是，类似 Uber 这种创新的服务、新的生意在推广到全球时进展通常是缓慢的。2009 年创立的 Uber 将其推广到今天的 68 个国家和地区、接入 360 多个城市，本身就意味 Uber 需要克服不同地区的消费者接受新服务的门槛，包括法律监管和消费习惯的养成，这需要 Uber 付出相当多的成本。10 亿订单只能说明 Uber 在全球推广服务的近况。

<a href="http://fortune.com/2015/12/30/uber-completes-1-billion-rides/" target="_blank">《财富》举了一些例子</a>来说明，科技历史上的创新服务几乎都花了大量时间才达到一个可观的数量级：互联网达到 10 亿用户花了 10 年，智能手机达到 10 亿用户花了 5 年，今天的社交巨头 Facebook 也花了将近 8 年才拿到第 10 亿个用户。

这也是为什么虽然 Uber 亏损严重，不考虑上市，却仍然能够不断融资的一大原因，只要 Uber 能维持不错的现金流，开展新业务证明它的赚钱能力，例如送快递送外卖，投资者愿意帮 Uber 不断开拓不同国家的市场，为将来获得的收益买单。
