Write Claudie + NETWAYS NWS OpenStack tutorial #2065

@samuelstolicny

Description

@samuelstolicny

Sub-task of #1900.

NETWAYS replied (2026-04-21) confirming interest and requested a draft. Reply came from Sebastian Saemann (CEO Managed Services); platform expert Daniel (blog content) is on vacation and will pick it up on return. Explicit ask: non-promotional, comprehensive technical guide. Reciprocity request: feature NETWAYS as a supported Cloud Service Provider on our media.

Scope

Write and publish a step-by-step guide on running Kubernetes on NETWAYS NWS (OpenStack) with Claudie, including a multi-cloud example to showcase the core Claudie use case. Guide must be non-promotional — focus on technical how-to.

Deliverables

  • End-to-end test of Claudie against NETWAYS NWS (single-provider cluster)
  • End-to-end test of a multi-cloud cluster with NWS as one of the nodepools
  • Markdown draft covering:
    • Prerequisites and NWS project setup (application credentials, quotas, network/router, external network, flavors)
    • InputManifest example for NWS-only cluster
    • InputManifest example for multi-cloud cluster (cross-provider, e.g. NWS + AWS)
    • Step-by-step walkthrough of bootstrapping the cluster with Claudie
    • Verification and teardown
  • Send draft to Sebastian/Daniel at NETWAYS for review
  • Address NETWAYS's expectations:
    • Non-promotional tone
    • Helpful and comprehensive
  • Publish on NWS blog (https://nws.netways.de/en/blog/) or agreed alternative
  • Reciprocate: feature NETWAYS as a supported Cloud Service Provider on Claudie's media (shape TBD — tutorial link from claudie.io, mention in OpenStack provider docs, social callouts, or co-branded landing page)

Reference

Hetzner tutorial we published as format reference: https://community.hetzner.com/tutorials/kubernetes-with-claudie
(Note: Hetzner version is single-provider only; the NWS version should demonstrate the multi-cloud angle.)
