Python and package versions

Hi all,

What minimum Python, pandas, plotly, seaborn versions should we aim for this to work with?

My suggestion for python is >=3.10

Sounds reasonable unless anybody comes forward with an example of being forced to work with an older version?

Do we want minimum versions? I feel like an ideal version should be able to install without plotly if you only want it to be used with matplotlib for example?

I know you can do suggests in R, but I haven't looked at it in Python yet.

I'm not aware of a direct equivalent. I guess we could add a "suggested" dependency group.

From a quick google we can move them to optional-dependencies?

Yes, agreed. Just need to decide which optional dependency group to put them in? "suggested" or just "dev"?
