Removing .php extension from vanilla php sites running Herd locally on OSX

Hi, is it possible to remove .php extension from vanilla hardcoded php sites running via Herd on OSX and still have the pages load?

It's infuriating having to add it to every page for development. It's super easy in nginx conf on my linux server.
