CPU / GPU 100% usage

Hello, i was wondering if someone is getting the same or maybe someone can help.
So on my laptop the CPU( i9-13950x) goes to 100% usage and max power drawn while just opening a project and moving or generating random params.
Same with my desktop where the GPU(3090) goes to 100% usage and max power drawn..
Might be a setting or idk to be able to run it properly..
Please help i love the software .. Id love to be able to use it

Hi, the maxed-out GPU usage is intended! IFSRenderer tries to compute as fast as possible so it utilizes all available capacity. Unless this causes problems for you, don't worry about it.
I see one potential way to help the power drain, which is to stop computation at some user-defined quality or noise level while exploring. ie. the gpu would still be utilized 100% at a time, but then decrease to 0 when the displayed image is not changing. And when the user moves the camera or parameters it would again use max capacity but only until it reaches some good-enough image quality. Would this help you @laxtheking ?

About the CPU usage, I'm not sure 🤔 mine is steadily below <10% and very little computation happens on cpu actually. One thing I can think of (not sure) is that your processor's integrated GPU is being utilized and that is somehow counted towards cpu usage..?

Hey, thanks for getting back to me.. Oh that's is what i'm talking about :).!!!
If you can manage to to what you said and balance some how the workflow would be nice !
And lol wired thing just happed now exactly what i wanted ( i;m on the laptop and without the power cable in and it works perfect LOL) - gpu is used 50-100% when i use it but the fans and temps are good ?
Could be that a bug or something like that when plugged in fans start going and temps too ?
Would be amazing if you can fix this when plugged in too...

Hmm you mentioned that behavior changes when the laptop is plugged in or not 🤔 this is done by Windows, it tries to save power when unplugged. So its not really something that needs fixing or something IFSRenderer can fix. But you should look around in the power saving settings in Windows and select the profile that best fits your needs.
I'll add this new stopping function in the next release, thanks for feedback!

Yes, when plugged in or - on the desktop its its goes full throttle.
But when i was on the laptop early without the power cable i was able to work and move and change thinks without fans going up and the temps were normal. ( checked 2 times )
So power settings make sense because it using only 10% on battery i think..
Its ok that i found how to use it without to full throttle xD ;) thanks for everything and keep it up.
