I will attempt cherry-picks of relevant commits on that branch onto a fresh bep-016 branch and see if that works.
In addition, as discussed on #8, the fact that MRtrix3 now has a dedicated documentation page on the SH convention used can potentially be leveraged, whether through relying on external linking or by stealing content.
