Differentiate between ontology subtree restrictions and non-ontologized strings "of an ontologized type"

Strictly speaking the entries in such a column will not be CV terms in the

EFO_0000542
subtree (since this already a leaf).

This is very different from saying e.g. tumor stage must follow the children of EFO_0004925. I.e. be one of:

• M0 distant metastasis stage
• M1 distant metastasis stage
• MX distant metastasis stage
• ...

I think the intention there is that the column ontology term is that one; that doesn't mean in any case the the values will be under that ontology tree; same case than age, bmi and others.

Then we should add support for this. What use has a validator if it doesn't check for valid terms?
E.g. instrument type. How would you create a regex for this? You must check the child terms in the ontology!
