Unfortunately this is not possible due to technical limitations of the current architecture of DAVx5 (which is – although it does not look like it as a user – very complex). We already got this request many times and we know it would be useful. Atm we are re-working a lot of internal code to make us more independent from the Android base system – which is also the problem with potential backups and for a "settings import/export" and also with changing the URL right now. Background: DAVx5 is split into 2 parts right now - the internal part and the system part. We can control the internal part of course but we can't do so with the system part (where also parts of the URLs are saved). Thus changing URLs or backing up accounts is not possible and would most likely lead into data loss and corrupted accounts. To speed up a new setup on multiple devices you can create a link in the syntax of: davx5://username:password@yourdomain.xyz/path/ just click this link on various devices and DAVx5 will open the setup screen, pre-filled with the provided data. You can also make a QR code out of this and scan it with a capable QR code scanner like "Binary Eye" for example on the device to make the setup easier. Sounds reasonable from a technical point of view. The provided URL and with the help of a QR code, I'm already one or two steps ahead for the new setup, although there are some more settings I must re-set up again. Thanks for the heads-up! |

I am not even trying to modify the URL, I am just trying to see the URL of my existing account (so that I can set them up again on a new device). Is that possible in any way currently? Right now, I am entirely stuck trying to port my settings from one device to another because I can't figure out the URLs. :( |

I don't understand what you mean. All I can see is a list of calendars, a list of address books, and in the settings my username.
(EDIT: Sorry for breaking the threading. I sent this reply via email and apparently github then doesn't thread things properly.)

Hi!
I'm in the process of switching the domain of my self-hosted CalDAV servers, exposed to the public.
Right now it's not possible to just modify the URL within the existing accounts in DavX5 without deleting them and creating from scratch. This is annoying, because I've to set up all preferences again, as well.
Maybe there is already a way to exchange the URL, e.g. backing up the accounts, modifying some YML files and re-importing them, I currently not aware of?
