Set brightness from a variable and not just %

Is this a feature relevant to companion itself, and not a module?

Describe the feature

I'd like to use a $variable as the % to set surface Brightness, this dosn't seem possible ?

Usecases

I'd use this for changing the brightness nigh/day, and as part of screen saver.

It would be great if the current brightness value were also available as a variable.
