Q1: Is there a way to automatically enable the bypass switch whenever the output device changes or when eqMac starts?
Q2: Why does macOS volume control only work when bypass is enabled? My understanding was that bypass simply inserts eqMac into the audio chain. I don’t see why system volume control should stop working when bypass is off. Shouldn’t volume adjustment still function even if the EQ is inactive?
Auto bypass (removing eqMac from the audio chain processing chain) can be set per device in System Source Settings (next to System tab or at the bottom next to output device selection)
As for volume control it should be working either way, if it's not that could indicate an issue. By macOS volume control do you mean changing the volume through the OS user interface (and where specifically) or by using the volume up/down keyboard keys?
