Are eqMac or eqMac2 the same?

Depending on what source for 'eqMac' you are referencing. The official 'eqMac' had an old open source version, then it was rewritten to eqMac 2 (for which part of source code was open sourced in this repo, but for a long time open source updates have been stopped and now it's fully closed source) but it still is 'eqMac'. There also are some clone repositories, one is named eqMac2 which is a clone of the very early eqMac v2 that someone made changes to but it is not the official eqMac, and it is not the actual latest eqMac v2.

You will always find the official eqMac at eqmac.app.
