Steps To Reproduce

1. Go to 'Safari'
2. Click in 'address bar'
3. Begin typing

Expected Result

1 Quickly types full address then goes to site on return

Actual Result

First letter works, then typing halts. The browser then catches up (but often with assumed website from first letter rather than correct site). The Safari "reading list" also sticks open for longer than it should.

Problem clears when Safari is restarted then cumulatively returns.

Additional Context

Mac restarted in safe mode and ok. Restarted normally and problem returns but gradually. Safari extensions deleted. Bitwarden uninstalled and replaced (extension is there but not enabled)

There were some similar "performance-related" issues here recently. I think you could check if yours could be another "duplicate" or not (maybe some are not relevant for every OS - but maybe some issues are related, nonetheless).
