What is fastpwn?

Seems like a modified fastboot. How is it different? I'm curious because `fastboot oem edl` does not work with my device and I'm wondering if it's worth setting up a linux vm to try the equivalent fastpwn command (I'm on a mac so the fastpwn libraries in the repo will not run on my system).
