OnePlus 7T – README says “read-only”, but LiveDVD write works. Can previous full EDL dump (with userdata) be safely restored?

I created a complete EDL dump from my OnePlus 7T using:

edl rl dumps --memory=ufs --genxml

The README mentioned that the OnePlus 7T is read-only, which was confirmed when attempting to write — it stayed at 0.00% write. Because of this limitation, after the device bricked I used the MSM tool to unbrick it.

After the MSM unbrick, the phone is now working.

Later, I tested the bkerler LiveDVD and noticed that write actually works for the OnePlus 7T.

My question is:

Since write works in the LiveDVD, is it possible to restore my earlier full EDL dump (including userdata)? If I restore it, will the device boot with my original data?

It depends. If after you saved the backup you ever did a fastboot wipe or a factory reset or a fresh out-of-box then the keys that are stored in the RPMB are gone and so with it any possibility of getting your old data back.
