How complete is the rsky-pds?

I've been playing with the rsky-pds by running it locally and using ngrok as a tunnel, and I seem to be having issues with Bluesky. I wanted to see if the project is complete or if there are any issues yet to be resolved.

The issues I'm getting are:

• The Bluesky crawler continuously connects to subscribeRepos on a websocket approximately four times a second at cursor position 3, then promptly disconnects
• Bluesky insists on asking for a birth date after a login despite the personlDetailsPref having a valid over 18 birth date
• Posts I have made via the API to the PDS haven't shown up on Bluesky, but these can be seen on an ATProto browser
• Attempting to log in with the Bluesky app doesn't seem to work, with no feeds loading

On further thought, I realise that using ngrok might be the issue here. I will try another approach and report back.

I reset the database, set-up a new domain, used a Cloudflare Tunnel, and I'm still having the same issues...

I believe Blacksky is self-hosting the reference pds server for stability. rsky-pds is probably not a priority since the alternative AppView stuff is a lot more mission-critical for Blacksky’s remit.

There’s a new PDS in Rust called Tranquil that is already in minimal production use. This could fit nicely in the Blacksky stack should they ever want to move off of the reference pds.
