The HRRR model output contains a field for "vegetation type" which is an integer value that maps to a particular vegetation type. But what are those types? |

Since HRRR is based on the WRF model, I found the table of vegetation types in the WRF documentation
Back in 2016, I generated this image of the HRRR land types: Someone pointed out to me in an email that HRRR VGTYP actually only has 19 unique types [1-19] and excludes category 20. This is probably because there is no "barren tundra" in the HRRR domain. |
