install Herbie with uv

I am very interested in the uv package management tool. I just used it to install Herbie and ran all the tests. I am very impressed and will likely move away from using Conda/Mamba for a lot of things.

# Install latest version of Python
uv python install 3.13

# Clone latest Herbie
git clone https://github.com/blaylockbk/Herbie.git
cd Herbie

# Create virtual environment, with extra dependencies to run all tests
uv sync --extra test --extra extra

# Run the tests
uv run pytest

It's amazing that you don't need to install any of Herbie's dependencies with Conda anymore. I don't know how I missed this, but eccodes is now pip installable:

From version 2.37.0, the ecCodes Python bindings on PyPi additionally provide the ecCodes binary library

The Herbie dependencies you can't install from PyPI are:

• wgrib2: Heribe uses wgrib2 for some optional features if it is installed.
• curl: Herbie uses curl to download, but this usually comes with the system.
