one-line installer for Pi-OS

Python is not my native language, but I've always wanted to use Herbie. Getting it to install and hooked to the dependencies was something I didn't want to have to do twice so I made a script that included all the brute force workarounds and fail-overs I needed when the regular method didn't work out for me. Right now its spread across 3 scripts in a fork, but I could merge them into one .sh and do a PR if that's of interest to anyone besides me.

Cool! I might run Herbie on a Pi 4. I ran solarforecastarbiter-core on one for a while a few years ago, but a Herbie option would be nice.

I compiled wgrib2 - my notes/process are here, in case any of it’s helpful: https://github.com/williamhobbs/RPi-Solar-Forecast?tab=readme-ov-file#compile-wgrib2-. It was a while ago (before a 64bit OS was available?), so may not be relevant anymore.

Thanks for sharing, I'll give it a look. At first glance it looks far more elegant than what I did. I flash a fresh SD card next week and play around with this on 64-bit to see if I can tighten up my code. My approach was very much "I just want it to work, I don't care if I install it 3 times to get there." which probably will cause problems later on.

Hi @Stryfe-Delivery, thanks so much for offering to share your install scripts! I think a great way to include them in the Herbie docs would be to add a link at the bottom of the installation guide pointing to a gist with your scripts. That way, you can easily keep them up to date, and others can comment or ask questions directly in the gist.
