Diablo II LOD 1.14d crashes immediately after start

Environment

• Linux, Lutris with (PlayOnLinux) Wine 4.5
• Intel GPU

Steps taken

• Installed latest mod (copied .dll file to Game root directory)
• Launched Game.exe or Diablo II.exe with -3dfx option

Launching without -3dfx does bring up the game in "native" resolutions (600x480, 800x600)

Results

blank screen, when I hit Enter game exits immediately

Note

Game has been moved from an older computer with NVidia Card and "adopted" from PlayOnLinux to Lutris.
