Is there a way to split books attached as alternatives?

Basically that, if there are files mistakenly in the "Alternative Formats" is there a way to split them off from the primary and create the correct book.

To explain, I haven't been able to come up with a reproducible test case but the "Alternate Format" detection seems to often group books with multiple volumes as if they where the same book. Something like "Test Book Volume 1" "Test Book Volume 2" all become "Test Book Volume 1"

In some cases I've been able to work around this by move the file out and moving it back and but sometimes they get re-detected as alternative formats and regrouped.

There's probably a "bug" there where the matching algorithm could be improved but without a good test case I struggled coming up with a good bug report so just looking for a work around ATM.
