This is not exactly right. As most people are installing with HACS and this will download and replace the whole component directory with the version from GIT. Also when you install manually you must be very careful to not replace the directory fully. I will consider to add another directory to the fallback mechanism. This directory will have a fixed name as I'm very hestistant to introduce a new configuration option for this, to not confuse users with more options for custom models. For example:

Hey Bram, did you get the chance to add this yet? Id love to give it a try. Asking because I need to update to 14.0.1 anyways ;-) would we need to update the const.py file too. I always add my own data files translations:

Did some work on it a few days ago. #480. Only need to test it. For the const files mapping stuff is out of scope for now. Need to rethink that approach. |

since I dont like to clutter my /config directory, and keep it clean as possible, I would like to suggest allowing the
powercalc-custom-models
to be moved into the Powercalc folder itself. This would pose no issue when updating and
overwrite all
files, because the new versions don't have that folder by default, so don't touch it when updating.Having used a config from the start with my own folder within the Powercalc folder has proven to be very useful and functional.
Would be very nice if this was supported by the integration itself.
thanks for considering
